DERMAPLANING
PRICE: £40
Dermaplaning is an exfoliating treatment that involves gently scraping the surface of your skin with a surgical scalpel to remove dead skin and peach fuzz.
A buildup of dead skin can clog your pores and hair follicles, which can not only cause pimples but also block your skincare products from penetrating the skin, which is why exfoliation is essential for maintaining an even, healthy glow.
Dermaplaning gets rid of facial hair, can make your face feel baby soft, and helps give you a smooth foundation application, all without having to use harsh exfoliators.
We may recommend dermaplaning to anyone about to undergo a laser or chemical peel treatment to allow better penetration and, therefore, better results.
In the hands of a professional, dermaplaning is safe for most skin types, especially those with sun damage, fine lines, dry patches, and dull skin.
However, Dermaplaning is not recommended if you have a skin breakout, highly reactive or sensitive skin.
The best way to know what you need is to book a free consultation, where we can assess your skin condition and discuss the results you desire. Then we can guide you through the options that are best suited for your skin.
WHAT EXACTLY IS DEMAPLANING?
Dermaplaning involves using a sterile, surgical-grade scalpel to carefully shave, or scrape, the top-most layer of skin and fine hairs from the face. The scalpel is not used to cut into the skin, instead it is placed at a 45 degree angle to the skin and is brushed back and forth over the skin on the face. It is a manual exfoliation treatment.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Dermaplaning provides an effective and safe exfoliation treatment that promotes deeper product penetration, boosting the effects of skin care products while making the skin look and feel smoother and also reducing the appearance of fine lines and acne scars. The treatment also works to remove facial hair that can trap dirt and oils. It works on almost all skin types and provides near-instant results with no downtime. Dermaplaning can also help tighten loose skin, reduce hyperpigmentation and ultimately help your face look younger, as the process results in a stimulating effect which causes your skin to produce more collagen which increases skin tightness and skin texture.

HOW LONG DOES A DERMAPLANING TAKE?
Dermaplaning appointments normally last 45 mins to an hour, allowing time for you to get comfortable beforehand and to rebalance after laying down for an extended period.
CAN I COMBINE DERMAPLANING WITH ANOTHER TREATMENT?
Yes! Dermaplaning can be combined with many of our facials and body treatments. A popular choice is our Shrinking Violet Wrap, so that you can detox and lose inches off your body while you enjoy your dermaplaning treatment.
WHAT RESULTS WILL I SEE?
You can expect to see smoother skin, zero peach fuzz (until it grows back, of course), and slightly brighter-looking skin. And because you’re removing all your dead skin cells, your skincare products will better penetrate your skin when you apply them, making them all the more effective.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE DERMAPLANING?
Dermaplaning is recommended every three to four weeks. Each time you have a dermaplaning treatment, you're removing about two to three weeks' worth of dead skin cells.
HOW WILL I FEEL DURING DERMAPLANING?
Most clients feel relaxed, and find dermaplaning to be an enjoyable experience, especially when you are laying on our luxury heated treatment bed. We regularly check that you are comfortable and enjoying the treatment.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER DERMAPLANING?
Avoid heat, saunas, hot tubs and sweaty activity for 24 hours; this includes exercise of any kind.
Avoid products containing any exfoliating agents (retinoic acid, retinol, tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, astringents, etc.) for 24 hours after treatment.
You may resume your regular skin care routine 24 hours after treatment
Any questions you might have, we will happily answer them.
